I’m Burcin IO.
A thinker, an overthinker, a dreamer, and a self-taught multidisciplinary artist from Istanbul.
I began in fashion and television, where a first DSLR camera changed documentation into a way of seeing. The lens taught me that looking is never neutral: optics fail, distort, reveal and invent.
Since then I have moved through photography, animation, film, digital drawing, sound, performance, creative direction, generative systems and cultural projects. The works do not need to resemble one another. I am what connects them, and art making is where I can work without rules, restrictions or judgement.
