Source record
The pipeline starts with fixture records, events, match statistics, and archived ball coordinates.
THE PROJECT
Burcin IO gives each validated World Cup match its own animated pixel garden. The match record decides what grows there.
TOURNAMENT GROUND
Three real gardens from the archive. Grass changes by competition phase: green in the group stage, blue in the early knockout rounds, and red in the final rounds.
ARTIST STATEMENT
I grew up with football. It holds family memory and rivalry, and its rhythm stays in the body after the score is forgotten. The sport is measured constantly. I wanted those measurements to make pictures.
Each garden begins with a match record. I wrote the rules that decide what a pass, shot, save, or card can become. I built the country catalogue and set the review points for goal and assist evidence. When the same approved record enters the renderer, it produces the same garden.
Codex and other AI-assisted tools helped me build and test the pipeline. I choose the visual rules and approve the evidence. The match facts come from the sources named below.
I want the garden to work before the legend is opened. The legend is there when someone wants to follow an object back to the match.
HOW TO READ IT
Watch one loop without the legend. When something catches your eye, use the catalogue to find its rule and the method section to check its position.
The full garden is present from the opening frame. Watch what moves and what holds your attention.
Choose an object in the garden, then find the football record assigned to it below.
The method says whether its position was recorded, reviewed from a frame, or inferred from nearby ball movement.
Every country has seven assigned assets. Its tree appears for shots; its flying animal appears for crosses. Choose a country to see the full set.

PRODUCTION RULES
These are the 20 rules used by the renderer. Each line names the football record and the object it calls into the garden.
METHOD AND SOURCES
The pipeline records how each position was found. Some come from provider coordinates. Goal and assist origins may be checked against FIFA footage. When a direct coordinate is missing, the renderer uses a limited window of nearby ball movement and labels the result as inferred.
The pipeline starts with fixture records, events, match statistics, and archived ball coordinates.
Events are named once and kept tied to their source.
Official FIFA frames are checked when a goal or assist origin needs review.
The approved record, rule set, and seed produce the animated SVG.
The provider supplies the coordinate or match record.
An official FIFA frame is used to approve a goal or assist origin.
The renderer uses a documented window of nearby ball movement.
