NormieAura

A grayscale body is never only gray. Around every fixed figure, color insists on becoming visible.

The still figure generates everything around it.

NormieAura is part of my studies of CC0 art. My usual approach merges open cultural works with Sandscapes dynamics, but the grayscale palette of Normies asked for another system. Instead of dissolving the figure, I began looking for the color that might surround it.

Each output deterministically selects a Normie created by Src1n and Yigit Duman. The script removes the square background and keeps the visible character static at the center. The Normie is not recolored, distorted, dissolved, flipped, or animated. It remains the anchor.

Motion begins at the silhouette. A contour map drawn from the figure's outer edge becomes the source for a field of colored pixel blocks. The field radiates outward, moving continuously while the grayscale body holds its position.

01

Select

The token hash deterministically chooses a source Normie and the parameters that shape its surrounding field.

02

Mask

Pixel-level figure masking separates the grayscale body from its original square background.

03

Trace

Contour-distance mapping reads the outer form and turns its silhouette into an animation source.

04

Radiate

Palette, block size, thickness, speed, direction, and rhythm create a distinct moving aura for every output.

The animation travels with the token.

Artwork, traits, and self-contained animation are stored on Ethereum. The p5.js draw loop continues for as long as the work is displayed; token-based randomness keeps each output consistent whenever it is reconstructed.
